Due to the length and nature of the routes, UMUK is unsupported. This means that there will be no aid stations or road signage on the course.

You will be provided with GPX files for the routes (save for the swim).

  • It is compulsory to have a support crew as a condition of entering UMUK. This must consist of a minimum of one person and a maximum of three people. (You are welcome to have as many supporters as you wish, but they cannot perform in the role of support crew)

  • A single member of the support crew CAN run with the athlete on any/ all sections of the run course on day 3. That support crew member can be interchanged at any reasonable frequency in a location where it is safe to do so.
  • A running support crew member MAY carry nutrition/ race equipment on behalf of/ in addition to the athlete.
  • The same rules apply to relay teams

Above all, UMUK is unique in that it is event where the athlete achieves their goal with the help and support of their support crew. Your crew will become your lifeline over the three days of the event. They will be your communication, your routing, your catering resources and above all, your comfort, morale and support when you need it, which you will………

You are not limited to aid stations or personal supplies. They can source things for you from local shops if you find yourself craving a pie, chips or ice cream en route. Massages can be given, vaseline/ suncream applied………..

You will form a bond that will live with you all for ever. The Race Directors can vouch for that.
