UMUK is a three-day staged triathlon over the traditional ultraman-distance
of 515km, consisting of:
Day 1
10km swim followed
by 145km bike
Day 2
275km
bike
Day 3
85km double
marathon run
DATES
Friday 03rd September to Sunday 05th September 2027.
LOCATION
Our event HQ is located in Betws-y-Coed.
Pre-race ‘meet and greet’ will take place in Betws-y-Coed (venue TBC).
With the exception of Day 1, which starts at Lake Bala (Llyn Tegid), all other stages start and finish at Race HQ.
Registration and event briefing will be done on-line.
TIMINGS
02.09.2027 – 6pm to 7pm. Pre-race ‘meet and greet’ (Attendance is not mandatory but it is highly recommended)
03.09.2027 – Day 1: 7am start at Lake Bala. Finish at race HQ by 7pm
04.09.2027 – Day 2: 7am start at race HQ. Finish at race HQ by 7pm
05.09.2027 – Day 3: 7am start at race HQ. Finish at race HQ by 7pm
CUT OFFS
Each day will have a 12 hour cut off, with the swim stage having a cut off of 6 hours.
SUPPORT CREWS
This event is unsupported ie. there will be no aid stations or road signage on the course. You must use a support crew, consisting of two adults and no more than one vehicle, who will accompany you throughout all stages of the course. Your support crew will be responsible for navigating the course and providing you with nutrition. (The swim stage is organised such that you will not require a support boat). Please refer to Rules and Guidelines for more info regarding Support Crews.

The only ultraman-distance event in the UK!
Beautiful yet brutal courses with no repetition. Just one big loop each day full of incredible scenery.
After each gruelling day, you get a well-deserved rest before tackling the next challenge!
A great weekend away with your mates! No other event comes close in terms of the bond formed between you and your crew over the three days.
Superb and friendly atmosphere as everyone involved in UMUK events – staff, athletes, support crews – is there for the duration of the long weekend.
We can’t guarantee you’ll leave with a finishers’ medal but we can guarantee you will go home with incredible memories and a load of new friends!
What do I get?
HOW DO I ENTER?
UMUK entry is achieved by entering through the site. Places are limited in UMUK 2027 to the first 40 entries across all distances. We urge you to enter as soon as possible to guarantee your place. Ultraman UK Limited reserves the right to reject and refund an entry if it is deemed the athlete does not have appropriate race experience that may course concern over the athletes safety and welfare
It is recommended that the applicant will have completed at least one iron distance race within the previous 18 months of the event being applied for. Other ultra-distance events are also considered as qualifiers assuming they have distances equal to or greater than iron distances. Other solo long distance events are considered if it is deemed they require the planning and training that would be of benefit to the athlete doing UMUK 515.
